This list was created from suggestions from Ranker users, then holding an open vote selecting the Best Movies. The current list is still open for voting, so the ranking of the movies can change as more votes are cast. We are using the list as of June 25, 2012 and it is interesting that only 11 movies in the top 100 of the list were for movies released through 1960 and it wasn’t until #12 on the list that the first “old” movie appeared (Casablanca).
