Greatest Movies Through 1960

Greatest Movies Thru 1960 (compiled using lists linked on the left column of this page) – click on a movie name for the summary page, click on the IMDB score for the full IMDB webpage.

We have reviewed 37 lists of the “greatest movies” and counted how many times each movie was in the TOP 10 and the TOP 3 (filtered for movies released up to 1960).  We gave 1 point if a movie was in the top 100, added 3 points if in the top 10 and another 5 points if it was in the top 3 (and to emphasize the lists ranked by viewers rather than by critics, we doubled the points from viewer lists) We thought this would be an interesting way to come up with our own  version of the greatest movies, since it takes into count the views from MANY sources! (a full chart of each movies ranking in each list will be posted soon) Each movie detail page will include a video window of the trailer and a very short excerpt from a couple reviews from good sources with a link to the full review, as well as links to Amazon, IMDB and MRQE which links to dozens of reviews for each of the movies.
